I received my first parcel of timber heels this week! The two timbers I sent to Melbourne to be made into heels are hoop pine from the rainforests of QLD and QLD maple. I sourced the hoop pine from a recycled timber yard and it split where it was too dry/ had nail holes. It’s a shame cause I love the grain and pale, wheat colour of the heartwood.
